Arugam Bay is a popular surfing and tourist destination, which is located 220km due East of Colombo. Arugam bay is on the list of the top ten surf points in the world. The bay is almost of 320 kilometers (200 mi) due east of Arugam Bay, and covers an area of roughly 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) south of the market town of Pottuvil.
Arugam Bay is the best surfing point of Sri Lanka and a well-known place among worldwide surfers due to its adventurous and superb experience ever can be gained. It has superb surf breaks. The main point is one of surfing area of the bay and this is correct hand point break in Arugambay it consists with stone or reef base. Not even that it consists with various areas incidental barrels. Whiskey point has different breaks also Pottuvil point another great point for surfing. Not even that Elephant Rock, Peanut Farm with Okanda are other great points and those breaks are pulled constant flow. April – October is the best season for surfing in Arugambay.
